Three young women will make history when they take charge as India’s first female fighter pilots on June 18. They will be breaking a decades-long glass ceiling that has prevented women from taking on fighting roles.
The three pilots are currently undergoing training and will be formally inducted on June 18, India’s Air Force chief revealed on Mar. 8, the International Women’s Day. The three cadets, Avani Chaturvedi, Mohana Singh and Bhawana Kanth, were among the 37 who were selected to join the Indian Air Force’s fighter stream from among 120 candidates. Read more…
